Bloodstock 2018 – Gojira, Nightwish & Judas Priest!

Bloodstock Metal Festival held at Catton Park in Derbyshire England has announced all three headliners for the festival between 10 and 12 of August 2018! Two were announced at the end of this year’s event, in the names of French progressive metallers Gojira and symphonic rockers Nightwish from Finland. The final headliner are the band that the promoters have been chasing for a number of years and constantly requested by many regulars on the forums, namely local boys Judas Priest! This is perhaps one of their strongest ever set of headliners.

Now they have just released some of the undercard acts, announcing the ever popular choice for Bloodstock of Norwegians Emperor who are special guests to Priest, and Devildriver from the US, who are backup on the Sunday night for Nightwish. Also announced are the brutal Nails.

For those who have never been, Bloodstock is a smaller, more intimate and friendly festival that is dedicated to often the heavier end of the musical spectrum. The pits are things of legend and the crowd are always up for things like “walls of death”.

There are four stages in total, including one dedicated to new bands (New Blood Stage), along with the “Sophie Lancaster” (so named as a tribute to a young lady who was horribly murdered at 20 years old for being “different”), and finally a tiny stage primarily for acoustic sets, so  there is always something to watch.

Also announced are the towns or areas along with promoter’s contact details  (at least the UK ones) for bands that wish to try and play the “New Blood stage.

Cities included are Coventry, Sheffield, Reading, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, Carlisle, Norwich, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Stoke, Hitchin, Burnley, Wrexham, Saltash, Cardiff, Somerset, Newcastle, Nottingham, Merseyside, Manchester, Oxford, Selby, Hull, Northampton, London, Bristol and Birmingham.

These nights are under the title of “Metal To The Masses” or “M2TM” for short.
