FOREIGNER, WHITESNAKE/COVERDALE and JASON BONHAM

LIVE – HUNTINGTON PARK PAVILION, CHICAGO

One of the best shows I’ve photographed. Not only do these guys still sound great, they also still have a ton of energy!

Even though this year Foreigner are celebrating their 40th anniversary, they still sound great and put on a lengthy show with all the hits.
I love getting to photograph Kelly Hansen and to capture him while he’s literally running all over the stage.  In addition, seeing original guitarist Mick Jones is always a treat. Foreigner also does this thing where they have a local choir get up on stage with them and sing “I Want To Know What Love Is”, which is always magical.

Whitesnake started off with “Bad Boys”, continued with all the hits and ended with “Still Of The Night”.  The crowd especially loved hearing “Is This Love” and “Here I Go Again”! If you ever questioned seeing these guys because you weren’t sure if they would still sound good, rest assured they sound great and put on an amazing show.
David Coverdale can still take it down “Slow and Easy”! 😜

It was interesting to hear Jason Bonham‘s band play Led Zeppelin songs. There were quite a few people there early to see the show and they seemed to enjoy it! I also saw quite a few Zeppelin shirts in the crowd.
