The summer music festivals are about to start up and for many, the premier Hard Rock Festival happens on Memorial Day Weekend in a small town about 45 miles outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The town of Pryor has been the site of the Rocklahoma Music Festival since 2007 and this year marks their 10th anniversary. What started out as a Classic Rock festival with such acts as Ratt, Twisted Sister, and Warrant kept growing bigger every year. When AEGLive took over in 2010 was when it really took off. Bringing in a mixture of the classic 80’s metal bands with such modern rock acts as Godsmack, Staind, and Sevendust, Rocklahoma has built itself as one of the most popular festivals in the U.S. Decibel Geek‘s Rich “The Meister” Dillon is readying for the journey from Toronto Canada to Oklahoma for his inaugural, but probably not final, attendance at the Rocklahoma Festival where he will be joining Decibel Geek‘s YouTube video creator “Rockin” Ron Runyon, a Rocklahoma veteran, for their first in-person meeting. Both rock and metal lovers, the two Decibel Geek staffers shared quick comments on the event.
