Vega Who We AreVega are an AOR/melodic rock band from Stratford upon Avon in the UK. They were formed in 2009 and have released 3 albums previous to Who We AreKiss of Life on December 6, 2010, What the Hell on March 18, 2013 and Stereo Messiah on October 17, 2014. The band members are: Nick Workman (Vocals), James Martin (Keyboards), Tom Martin (Bass), Dan Chantrey (Drums) and Marcus Thurston (Guitar). This is another great British band along the FM, Foriegner and Europe sound and I am looking forward to hearing this latest addition to the Vega catalogue, Who We Are, released May 13, 2016 on Frontiers Records.

Vega wastes no time blasting into this album with “Explode”. Plenty of keyboards and great riffs with awesome vocals and a brilliantly catchy chorus are all contained in this fantastic album opener. “We Got It All” is next featuring great harmonies on the intro. A slightly slower song but again a fantastic chorus. Nick has some serious pipes and effortlessly belts the notes on this one. “Every Little Monster” is yet again another great song. This is AOR at its best and I feel like I am back in the early 90’s. Vega are a really tight band with boundless song-writing skills, there is nothing to dislike about this band. “Nothing is Forever” is the album’s first ballad and is a lovely piano number with fantastic band harmonies. “White Flag” again is on the slower side but the sound is fantastic with great production and some brilliant gang choruses. We move onto “For Our Sins” which starts out with some great guitar work and again another fantastic, catchy number. You can just imagine driving with the top down, cruising up the coastVega with this album blasting out of the speakers. We seamlessly glide into “Generation Now”, the lovely keyboard and guitar work on this song involuntarily have your head bobbing along. “Ignite” has some great lyrics and that great vocal work piercing the song with a brilliant chorus. “Saving Grace” continues in the same vain, the truly amazing vocals flooding your ears. The same can be said of “If Not You”. We finish the album with “Hurt So Bad” another fantastic song, so catchy.

This album has truly surprised me! The sound is so clean, so good. The band are so tight and the vocals are amazing. If you like melodic rock, Vega‘s Who We Are is a MUST BUY!
