With the departure of David Readman last year, there was much speculation as to whom would become the new front man for Voodoo Circle. The German band teased on their Facebook page in October that they had begun recording their fifth album for AFM Records with “Mr. X“. On January 27th, the band finally revealed his identity in this Facebook post:

Here we are… with the announcement many of you have been waiting for….

VOODOO CIRCLE‘s new vocalist in none other than the fabulous… *drumroll*… HERBIE LANGHANS! You probably know Herbie from his participation in Avantasia and Sinbreed. We’re very happy that he decided to become a part of the Voodoo Circle and we’re looking forward to release a great new album together this year!

VOODOO CIRCLE‘s fourth album, Whiskey Fingers, was included in the best albums of 2015 by a few of the Decibel Geek staff writers. The album review from Adam Cox (find the full review here ) describes it as Eighties rock “served with a tipple of taut, tasty tunes”. Although the band wears its many influences on their proverbial sleeve, the sentimental walk down memory lane is refreshing and entertaining.

Formed in 2008 by Silent Force guitarist Alex Beyrodt with the intent of making music based on his early influences including Whitesnake, Yngwie Malmsteen, Deep Purple and Rainbow, the band released their first album entitled Alex Beyrodt’s Voodoo Circle. Broken Heart Syndrome followed in 2011, More Than One Way Home in 2013 and Whiskey Fingers in 2015. No word yet on the official release date for the new album, but this announcement indicates it will be this year. Until then, fans can purchase a copy of their last album here or check out their website here. The staff writers at Decibel Geek will give you the scoop on their upcoming release with their new singer as soon as it drops.
