Derek Davis Revolutionary SoulDerek Davis, singer with glam metal band Babylon A.D. has announced that he is to release a solo album on January 7, 2017.

Derek Davis hails from northern CA. A natural born singer/songwriter/musician and gifted performer, Derek began playing drums at the age of 11, later switching to vocals and guitar. He began his professional music career at the age of 15, writing songs, fronting bands, headlining clubs, bars and every music venue in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Relocating to Los Angeles in 1989, he and his new formed rock band, Babylon A.D., soon caught the attention of the legendary music mogul Clive Davis, who signed them to a recording contract with Arista Records at a private showcase.

While at Arista Records the band released two critically acclaimed CDs, the self-titled Babylon A.D. in 1990 and Nothing Sacred in 1992. The band also released an E.P, Live at the Roxie.

The band’s first release produced three top 10 songs on the A.O.R Metal charts: “Bang Go The Bells”, “Hammer Swings Down” and “Kid Goes Wild”. The last track was the trailer track featured in Orion Pictures film, Robo-Cop 2. With strong video rotation on MTV and constant touring, the band soon became one of hard rock fans most popular bands.

As a former songwriter/co-publisher with Virgin/EMI Music, Derek Davis has been fortunate to write songs and collaborate on various music projects with many notable songwriters and producers such as Jack PontiAlice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Tom Werman, Motley Crue, Cheap Trick, Taylor Roads, Aerosmith, Gene Black, Rod Stewart and Michael Anthony of Van Halen.

Over the past 28 years, Derek Davis has showcased his extraordinary singing and songwriting and musicianship in several areas. He’s had several songs placed in films and TV, recorded a total of eight CDs with Babylon A.D. one with the band American Blues Box and one with Moonshine.derek davis

In January 2013, Derek Davis released his first solo CD Re-Volt! on Apocalypse Records, which has had rave reviews and a great response from fans.

In 2014 Derek had two new releases, the first a 4 song E.P from Babylon A.D.Lost Sessions/Fresno CA 93 and Moonshine from Southern Blood Records. A southern blues-rock band featuring an all-star cast of great musicians, Buzzy James, Craig Defalco, Mike Malone, and guest appearances by Michael Anthony and Jane Child. 

In 2015 Babylon A.D. released a new live CD, Live @XXV, to celebrate 25 years of recording and touring. The band also played many festivals and club dates including Firefest in Nottingham, England, The Monsters Of Rock Cruise Concert Bahamas and the Rock and Skullfest in Chicago.

Highlights of 2016 saw Babylon A.D. play the Bang Your Head festival in Balengen Germany as well as Monsters of Rock West Coast Cruise.
