UDO

A huge “horns in the air” salute goes out to Dirkschneider for being nominated “BEST LIVE BAND”, and also to Udo himself for also being nominated for the 2016 “LEGEND” award at this year’s Metal Hammer Awards. The winners will be announced on September 16th, 2016 during the Metal Hammer Award Show in Berlin.

Late last year Mr. Udo Dirkschneider announced to the world that he would be travelling the globe on what was to be called the Dirkschneider – Back to the Roots Tour. As a final tip of the hat to his former band, the setlist would be a two-hour feast of nothing but the music of Accept! When I first heard this news I was ecstatic. Accept was the first metal band that this writer ever witmetal_awards_2016nessed live back in June of 84 and the distinctive wail of Udo is truly something to experience. A final chance to hear him belt out these classic songs is absolutely essential, so the Meister and I will be in attendance on January 10th, as this historical tour hits Toronto’s Mod Club.

As if this wasn’t good enough it has been learned that on October 28, 2016, AFM Records will be releasing Dirkschneider – LIVE Back to the Roots as a double CD, digipack or gatefold triple vinyl (available in black, gold, silver or clear vinyl). The album was recorded at the sold out show at the Kaminwerk in Memmingen on April 2nd, 2016 and contains the following tracks:
