GraveshadowGRAVESHADOW – a Female-fronted Symphonic Metal band that incorporates Doom, Thrash and Goth Metal influences, based out of Sacramento, CA and winner of the 2016 “Sammie” (Sacramento Area Music Awards) for best Metal band – is the latest signing to M-Theory Audio.
Since forming at the end of 2012 Graveshadow has created a sound defined by crushing guitars, beautiful keyboard melodies, thundering bass, and earth-shattering drums. The powerful operatic vocals shift into unearthly growls to create a rich and dynamic atmosphere that is ripe for storytelling. Whether it is a tale of personal struggle or of fantastical creatures, the listener is sure to find themselves immersed in a world apart. Releasing an EP in 2014, and a full-length, Nocturnal Resurrection, the following year Graveshadow have toured and played shows with Marty Friedman, Flotsam and Jetsam, Unleash the Archers, Apocalyptica, Children of Bodom, Death Angel, Skinlab, Doyle, Wednesday 13 and John 5. Graveshadow intend to release a new full-length by the end of the year, but until recording this summer they will continue performing live.
“We are extremely excited to be working with Marco and M-Theory. With his status in the industry, belief in this band, and the growing family under the label, we could not think of a better home for our release this year,” states singer Heather Michele. “We are ready to unleash this monster for you all to enjoy, more details soon to come!”
M-Theory Audio is the new label recently launched by Marco Barbieri, who ran the North American office of Century Media for 14 years, as well as time with Nuclear Blast and Metal Blade. Barbieri has assembled an experienced team previously employed by esteemed labels like Century Media, Prosthetic, Victory and Epitaph Records. The M-Theory roster also includes Bay Area thrash outfit Cultural Warfare, Las Vegas’ power/progressive band Sicocis, Sacramento headbangers Blessed Curse, Nor Cal’s death metal/metalcore group Apothesary and So Cal’s Folk/Pagan Death Metal band Helsott.
“I’ve been following Graveshadow’s evolution the past 2 years, since their manager Jeff Keller brought the young band to my attention,” explains Marco. “In that time I’ve witnessed their commitment and hard work, as well as enjoying their friendly in person, yet fierce on stage live performance. I’m very pleased we will be involved in the continued development of this promising band.”
GRAVESHADOW will tour across the US in March opening for ANVIL and NIGHT DEMON, with additional West Coast shows in May opening for ARKONA and SIRENIA.
