Leaves' Eyes

Leaves’ Eyes formed in 2003 in Norway and is a mix of Symphonic/Viking/Pagan/Folk music. When I first heard Leaves’ Eyes in 2013, I became an instant fan.

In 2015, thanks to AFM RecordsLeaves’ Eyes released their 6th studio album King Of Kings. This was my #1 album for 2015. As good as the album was, Leaves’ Eyes decided it was time to switch things up. In April 2016 the band and singer Liv Kristine decided to part ways which made room for Finnish singer Elina Siirala.

With a lot of controversy online about the split, Leaves’ Eyes stayed positive about the change. Taking their live show on the road, the negativity online soon went away as Elina easily proved she would be a perfect fit for the band.

Going into the studio right away Leaves’ Eyes recorded “Edge Of Steel” from the King Of Kings album and video for the tour edition of the album.

Before the end of 2016 Leaves’ Eyes released Fires In The North EP. This was just a tease, being an acoustic version of one new song, and 3 re-recordings from their King Of Kings album.

Leaves' Eyes Fires in the NorthCompleting the line up is, Alexander Krull – keyboards and vocals, Thorsten Bauer – guitar and bass, Joris Nijenhuis – drums and Pete Streit – guitar.

For 2017 the band has been in the studio working on their first full studio release with Elina on vocals. From playing festivals around the world in front of thousands of fans to small clubs, the band is back for another North America tour after a 3-month break. Starting April 20th in Philadelphia PA and ending in Silver Spring MD. On the bill is Battle Beast from Finland, and headliner Sabaton from Sweden.

Their current tour comes to Toronto Canada at The Opera House on April 27th, brought to you by Inertia Entertainment. This will be my first time seeing them live and it surely will be a night to remember.

I am very excited to have the complete pleasure to interview the band before the show in Toronto. My photos and the interview will be posted on Decibel Geek website after the show.

The show is almost sold out in Toronto. Get your tickets ASAP before they are gone. VIP Meet & Greet have been sold out for a while now.
