Welcome Thrash Metal fans! San Francisco based thrash quartet TRAUMA drop their third album, As the World Dies on August 24, 2018 in the UK. But for North Americans it’s been available since early May.
Trauma is highly revered by those in the know as an important evolutionary entity in the intersection of traditional heavy metal, the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, and the more melodically minded classic rock influenced bands on the Sunset Strip. This is the band responsible for the much sought after classic ‘80s album, Scratch And Scream, featuring killer cuts like “The Day All Hell Broke Loose” and “Lay Low.”
TRAUMA formed in 1981 in the San Francisco Bay Area. It currently consists of members Donny Hillier (vocals), longtime drummer Kris Gustofson, guitarist Joe Fraulob (former member of Danzig), guitarist Steve Robello (former member of Dublin Death Patrol, the Bay Area supergroup formed by the singers of Exodus and Testament) and bassist Greg Christian, founding member of Testament. The band is known for its association with Cliff Burton, the original bassist of Metallica, who founded TRAUMA before joining Metallica in 1982.
Produced by guitarist Joe Fraulob and mixed by Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Testament, Exodus, Ted Nugent). The first single/video, “The Rage” was #3 most added track at Metal Radio this week. Check out the track through the video below. TRAUMA also announced some US tour dates:
