What Thrash/Heavy Metal fan wouldn’t want to see another tour by The Big Four?  Well according to Anthrax bass player Frank Bello, it may one day become a reality.   According to comments he made to TeamRock the thrash tour was the “highlight of his career” and he says he’d love to go on another Big Four Tour.

The Big Four Tour saw thrash giants Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer playing the same stage for the first time in their careers as part of the Sonisphere Festival series in 2010. The Big Four Tour spawned the critically acclaimed The Big Four: Live from Sofia, Bulgaria DVD/Blu-ray featuring live concert performances by each of the bands recorded in June 2010. Prior to its release, the DVD was shown in theatres in the United States, CanadaEurope and Latin America.

TeamRock spoke to Bello before Anthrax’s appearance at U.K. Heavy Metal Festival, Bloodstock, last weekend, where he said, “Thrash was an all for one thing, really. That’s what the Big Four was about. We’d love to do more Big Four shows.”

Whether another Big Four Tour could actually take place, Bello says that is totally up to Metallica, “There are two people to ask – James Hetfield and Lars (Ulrich). Those are the guys. They know the rest of us will fall in line.”

Bello says Anthrax would definitely be onboard, “We’ll definitely be there if they want because that was the highlight of our career, for everybody. It was a celebration of this music and we’d be there in a heartbeat.”

Bello is currently in the midst of a Canada/US tour with Anthrax playing many dates this fall with fellow Thrash giants Slayer and Death Angel. Formed in New York City in 1981, Anthrax is celebrating their 35th anniversary in 2016 as well as the release of their 14th CD For All Kings.
