In April of 2011, Mitch Lafon (then a journalist for Bravewords.com) was the very first guest on the Decibel Geek Podcast. Since that appearance he’s been a helpful presence to the show by not only appearing a number of times, but helping us with some of the ins and outs of working in today’s rock media with his wealth of knowledge.

Mitch has gone on to become very well-known in the podcasting world due to his co-hosting duties on the Dropping the Needle and Three Sides of the Coin podcasts with his co-host Michael Brandvold of Michael Brandvold Marketing. These shows are prime examples of the burgeoning culture of music podcasts; in essence providing an audio-fanzine for music fans of all types.

Mitch has also been through a great deal in the last year on a personal level due to some health struggles that he recently overcame. On January 4th, 2013, Mitch’s father-in-law succumbed to cancer. Wanting to show his appreciation to the people that took care of his father-in-law in his final days, Mitch set out to create a tribute album to his favorite band, KISS, commemorating their 40th anniversary.

A World With Heroes will feature tracks by artists from LA Guns, Guns N Roses, Great White, Killer Dwarfs, and many, many more covering KISS songs from their entire career.

Full information about the roster of artists as well as what you can do to help make this project happen can be found HERE. We strongly encourage you to help fund this worthy project.
