My Choices For The Top Ten Albums of 2017

10 – Babylon A.D.Revelation Highway

This is a latecomer to the 2017 party, but too good not to be included here. Full of classic 80’s sound with top-notch hard rock mixed with glorious ballads. I can’t wait to hear some of these live!

9 – Chrome MollyHoodoo Voodoo

This is another solid effort by these English rock veterans. It was an early entry on the list that just wouldn’t give up its spot in my Top 10. Part raunchy, part sleazy but mostly straightforward metal at its finest!

8 – Burnt Out Wreck – Swallow / (Album Review)

No holds barred raw rock ‘n roll led by former Heavy Pettin’ drummer Gary Moat! If you like your rock in the vein of early AC/DC with some modern flavor mixed in, this one’s for you!

7 – Derek DavisRevolutionary Soul

Don’t expect a rocking Babylon A.D. sounding CD. This is truly a work of passion from Derek. A true masterclass in vocals with a genuine heartfelt vibe throughout. It takes me back to my 70’s love of soul music. Perfect! “Vicious Heart” is truly wonderful!

6 – House of LordsSaint of the Lost Souls / (Album Review)

Another killer CD from start to finish. HOL have returned once again with a gem of a CD with James Christian sounding better than ever! Their best CD in years!

5 – One DesireOne Desire / (Album Review)

European Melodic Rock done the way it should be. Fantastic CD – can’t wait for the follow-up! Pure bliss!

4 – Rockett LoveGrab the Rocket

The return of Twinball singer Daniel Samuelsson does not disappoint. All the songs are great from beginning to end, from classic rockers to fabulous harmonies. Sweden does it again! The song “Rocket Love” is amazing!

3 – Adrenaline RushSoul Survivor / (Album Review)

Female fronted rock the way I like it. In your face hard rock with hooks and melodies! “Love is Like Poison” one of the year’s best!

2 – Ratchet DollsDamaged / (Album Review)

Easily my most played CD of 2017 – without question! These Texas boys sure know how to rock. No fillers – all killers!! Fabulous guitar-driven, straight ahead rock and roll.

1 – VainRolling With the Punches

It was long awaited but worth every second. It’s filled with fantastic songs with Davy’s voice near perfection. Even the less than average production doesn’t stop this masterpiece from taking top spot!
