Aaron Camaro and I had the distinct honor of recently attending good friend of the show and past guest Chad Lee‘s new photography studio open house. The studio is now officially open to the public but this night was an invite-only event and it was great to be among those invited.

If you don’t already know, Chad Lee has earned a solid reputation as a rock/metal photographer for over 15 years. Shooting legendary artists in concert and in studio, Chad’s images have graced hundreds of press and promotional items. His incredible photography and dedication to his craft and the music that we all love was very apparent on opening night as well as the love being reciprocated by everyone in attendance; including some of the aforementioned artists.

The evening got off to a cool start before I even walked in the door as Mark Slaughter was on his way out as I entered. We talked for a few moments and made plans to communicate again soon on the show. If you didn’t know, Chad Lee has photographed Mark many times over the years including the photoshoot for Mark’s new solo album ‘Reflections in a Rearview Mirror.’

The rock n’ roll scene in Nashville is very much a family these days and lots of family was on hand to help Chad celebrate. Artists and friends were everywhere to be seen including Rex Brown (Pantera), Ryan Cook (Hair of the Dog, The Big Rock Show), Jeremy Asbrock (John Corabi, The Big Rock Show), Hannah Fairlight, Deano Workingman (The Big Rock Show), Rachel Bolan (Skid Row), Christopher Williams & Peter Baltes(ACCEPT), Luc Carl (Sirius/XM Satellite Radio), and Nick Bowcott (Grim Reaper) who was on hand to perform a blistering tribute to Dimebag Darrell right there in the studio.

The studio is housed in the same building as Nashville Sign and Graphics. Owner Cynthia Ryan is also Chad’s partner in the business. Combining their creative talents, it was clear that this is a one-of-a-kind unique space that celebrates rock and metal music in the best way.

It not only has the highest quality equipment but it’s got a great rock and metal vibe from the lounge area to the amazing collection of framed images from Chad’s career to the album cover covered section of the floor.

The Decibel Geek podcast wishes Chad Lee the greatest of success with the new photography studio. If you missed it the first time, you can download Chad’s first appearance on our show as we discussed Pantera HERE

As if shooting iconic rock/metal images wasn’t enough, Chad heads up the Nashville chapter of Ride for Dime. We covered the event last year and you can hear an audio document of the day including interviews with Nick Bowcott, Jose Mangin (Sirius/XM Satellite Radio), Nick Catanese (Black Label Society) and more HERE

Ride for Dime Nashville 2015 is coming soon! This year promises to be amazing with tons of special guests rounded out by a great bill of The Big Rock Show, Great White and Slaughter. Aaron and I will definitely be in attendance and hope you will help us support Chad in making this year’s event the biggest ever.
