Eleine logoHailing from Sweden, Madeleine “Eleine” Liljestam, an already successful model, started working with Cardiac Records in 2011 to create her Symphonic Metal band Eleine with Rikard Ekberg (guitar/growl). Joining them is David Eriksson on drums, Andreas Martensson on bass and Sebastian Berglund on keyboards. After their first album was released in April 2015, the band broke from Cardiac Records. Now they are back with their new single and video “Break Take Live“, released June 1, 2016.

The video opens with Eleine dancing with a well-known belly dance prop – the isis wings. Eleine‘s breath-taking moves and voice captivates the audience. Ekberg‘s growls fit well and are not too overpowering. The musicality of the song takes you on a musical journey of different styles from symphonic, melodic and heavy riffs. The production of the video is a work of art with the camera angles and lighting, creating a stunning visual for the story of the song and if you watch the video you’ll see how the darkness draws closer.

I would love to hear more of Eleine‘s vocals as I have a soft spot for female metal vocalists in the symphonic genre.Eleine

“”Break Take Live talks about how many mindlessly follow the crowd, never to realize that they’re fulfilling their worst fear: Not living life to the fullest. Live a life chosen for you, and you’ll be bound to a fate that’s not your own.” Reports the band’s official YouTube channel.

Look for Eleine to hit the road on tour. Next up is Sweden Rock Festival which will give me the chance to see this fantastic symphonic metal act live for the first time as I travel from Canada for my inaugural Sweden Rock Festival. I’ll have to count on my SRF experienced veteran Decibel Geek cohorts Rich “The Meister” Dillon and Mikael “The Lionsheart” Svensson to not steer me astray!
