The date is getting closer for the most anticipated album for 2017. On January 13th, 2017 the new album Silver by Swiss legends Gotthard will be released.
As a fan of this band for over 20 years I am always excited when they release new material and even better when I get to see them twice on the Monsters Or Rock Cruise 2016. A dream come true. Not only seeing them live, but hanging out with the band while I shot their photo experiences.

“It’s here: The new album’s first track is called “STAY WITH ME” and has everything that an anniversary album can offer. Fortunately, we’ve already established that dressing up for “SILVER” might be a good idea, because the next stop is a castle. And not just any castle, but Castle Weißenstein, one of the shooting locations of the latest “The Three Musketeers” film – the blockbuster ranked as one of the most elaborate on location productions in Europe to date. Together with producer Oliver Sommer and the AVA Studios team, GOTTHARD have done it in style: In the breathtaking baroque setting, “STAY WITH ME” grows bigger from chorus to chorus, and Nic’s fateful encounter with “good” and “bad” becomes a superbly staged rock fairy tale.
The 25th anniversary’s importance to the band is already evident in the album title. Referring to the anniversary of a marriage, “SILVER” hints at the fact that a band can actually take on similar features or at least can be an equally complex relationship – and still “SILVER” proves that GOTTHARD are in no way detached. On 13 (digital edition) respectively 15 tracks, five thoroughbred musicians floor the gas pedal, bringing loads of creative ideas to the table that display their unabated enthusiasm for the band in every single song. “SILVER” is out January 13, 2017 and can be pre-ordered now.”
February 2017 will see Gotthard embark on their new tour with special guest Pretty Maids. They will also co-headline 2 shows on the Rock Monsters of Switzerland Tour with Krokus and special guest Shakra.
I can’t wait for this tour to start. I will be making the journey to Europe for three epic shows in February/March. Joining me for the show in Munich with Pretty Maids will be The Meister, and our Canadian friend Mike. From there we are on to Switzerland for the Rock Monsters of Switzerland shows. Looking forward to seeing Pretty Maids and the two Rock Monsters of Switzerland shows.
