Swedish power metal titans HammerFall have just launched into their 30 date North American tour which kicked off in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and winds its way through 6 dates in Canada before culminating in Houston, Texas on June 20th.

Special guest on the tour are Phoenix, Arizona residents and longtime purveyors of the thrash scene, Flotsam and Jetsam. The band have been active since 1981 and once featured founder member Jason Newstead, former bass player of Metallica.

HammerFall themselves have been destroying towns the world over with their groundbreaking metal anthems since 1993. Frontman Joacim Cans opened up about the excitement of the upcoming tour.

“After last year’s successful tour, we couldn’t wait to return to USA and Canada.  We actually postponed the next album release just to be able to come back for a second run. We are so damn psyched to meet all the Templars of North America again and to top things off we get to see 30 shows with Flotsam and Jetsam. We have also updated the set list to give the fans who saw us on the first leg something new and fresh. It will be epic!”

HammerFall are touring on the heels of their debut album for Napalm Records, Built To Last, (Decibel Geek review here) an album that is full of metal anthems and astounding musicianship and as time has told, has set the band up for their second North American tour run on this album cycle.  You can catch the band at the remaining following dates:
