Lionheart Second NatureUK New Wave of British Heavy Metal exponents are back with a brand new album on AOR Heaven in Europe and King Records in Japan.

Entitled Second Nature the album will be available on June 21 in Japan, followed by the European release on August 25.

Lionheart hit the headlines in 1980 when they were dubbed by Sounds magazine as “the first NWOBHM Supergroup”. 36 years later they were asked to reunite for the Rockingham Rock Festival in Nottingham, England. Incredibly the magic was there even more than ever and they were invigorated by new singer Lee Small‘s vocal prowess whose reputation of being one of the most exciting vocalists to emerge from performing with such notable bands as Phenomena, SHY, Skyscraper, Snowfall and Arkham’s Razor.

The response from audience and press alike was effusive and Lionheart found themselves recording this new album, Second Nature, and lining up international shows throughout 2017. Having just performed at Sweden’s Rock Festival, the band will be heading to Japan to perform with Praying Mantis:

June 30th 2017 – Umeda Quattro, Osaka

July 1st 2017 – Toyosu PIT, Tokyo, Japan

A UK tour is also planned Nov  30th – December 6th later this year.

The Lionheart line-up which recorded the album is chock-full of guys who have played with some of the very best artists in rock. Just get a load of this:

Lee Small, vocals (ex- Phenomena, SHY, Skyscraper, Snowfall, Arkham’s Razor)

Dennis Stratton, guitars (ex-Iron Maiden and Praying Mantis)

Steve Mann, guitars and keyboards (ex-MSG, Tytan, Liar, The Sweet) and currently touring with Michael Schenker

Rock Newton, bass (ex-Michael Schenker Group, The Sweet, X-UFO)

Clive Edwards, drums & percussion (ex-Wild Horses, Medicine Head, Pat Travers, Uli Jon Roth, UFO)

The album, Second Nature consists of 13 tracks (Japanese version has 14 with bonus track) and is a follow up to their 1984 Hot Tonight album, which was produced by Kevin Beamish (REO Speedwagon).

The Lions are back and roaring…!
