After a complete sellout in 2015 with reported 50,000 people in attendance, the LOUDER THAN LIFE: Music + Whiskey + Gourmet Man Food Festival is returning to the city of Louisville for its third installment This year’s festival will be held on October 1 & 2 once again in Champions Park in downtown Louisville. Having attended and covered the last 2 installments, I can tell you that the festival’s organizers, Danny Wimmer Presents & Ashton-Magnuson Media have really outdone themselves with this years line up.
Both of LOUDER THAN LIFE‘s previous installments proved to be a true celebration of different genres of rock music. The first year seemed to be a perfect mix of all rock genres and in year II, the festival returned strong with bigger names and even some modern day legends thrown as well. The second year also saw the organizers bring the southern & classic rock side of things to the table with performances by Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top. Just like previous years, the festival brings along some lesser know bands for the opening of each day. That said, each year, I’ve found a handful of new bands that I am now a fan of. As far as headliners and heavy hitters, you REALLY can’t pass on LOUDER THAN LIFE version III. 2016 will be the year this festival truly earn it’s name. Louisville, the shit is about to hit the fan.
