Not one to be outdone by Bret Michaels, singer Marilyn Manson was injured when one of his stage props toppled over on him. TMZ is reporting that he was performing his hit cover of the Eurythmics song “Sweet Dreams Are Made of These” when it appears the prop of two guns mounted to some sort of cross came loose somehow.
According to various reports … it took several minutes for emergency workers to get Manson out from under the props, and he was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. No word yet on the rock star’s injuries, but the rest of the show was obviously canceled.
The singer’s reps confirmed in a statement released to the media that the singer was being treated in a New York City hospital. “Manson suffered an injury towards the end of an incredible NYC show,” the statement reads. “He is being treated at a local hospital.”
Video of the accident can be seen at about the 2:00 mark of the video below.
