One Desire

One Desire are a rock band that hails from Finland. Innovative Italian label Frontiers Music Srl recently presented the birth of this new melodic rock band which features the former Sturm Und Drang man André Linman and Jonas Kuhlberg of Cains Offering along with Jimmy Westerlund and Ossi Sivula. The Frontiers Music Srl manager even noted that their upcoming album is a “strong contender for album of the year”.

I have never heard of this band but I usually like most things Frontiers release, so I am looking forward to hearing a brand new band. It’s really exciting actually.

Anyway, the album opens with “Hurt” loaded with plenty of keyboards, melodic rock guitar work, and seriously classic rock vocals. A really catchy track and a monstrous chorus. “Apologize” is next up. It has less tempo than the first track and is reminding me of Daughtry. Really classic AOR which has you trying to hit the high notes and in my case failing miserably. But I still try belting them out, it’s so hard not to.

“Love Injection” has some great vocal work and a fabulously catchy chorus. “Turn Back Time” starts slowly, then bursts into life and again has you pumping your fists in the air.

“Falling Apart” is another drop in tempo but is a catchy song and I can’t help tip my hat to the musicianship on this record. Next is “Straight Through The Heart” with some brilliant bass work running right through it, a great bit of solo guitar work and some serious vocal high notes.

“Whenever I’m Dreaming” is a mid-tempo rock track with some lovely harmonies and brilliant vocals. “Do You Believe” is a wonderful song with a lovely guitar rhythm running through another potential classic.

“Buried Alive” fires in with some awesome keyboards and I am transported back to the early 90’s. Then the rip roaring guitar kicks in, my head nodding in approval. “This Is Where The Heartbreak Begins” slows it right down. This is the only real ballad on the album and is a song that will have all the lighters out and the arms swaying in the venue.

Well the melodic rock scene is thriving in Scandinavia with yet another great band that add to the list of Treat, Eclipse, Europe and so many more. If you like AOR rock you will love this! With great vocals, great catchy choruses, and awesome guitar work, it’s a must.
