Sin City Sinners – Let It Burn (CD Review)
Before we get to their new CD, here are a few notable facts about Sin City Sinners:
Let It Burn is the sixth release by the band and second full-length CD of all original music. The current lineup includes original member Michael “Doc” Ellis on guitar joined by Slaughter‘s Blas Elias on drums, L.A. Guns‘s Scotty Griffin on bass and vocalist Joshua Alan.
Let It Burn has elements of hard rock and punk, but keeps things light and lively. While there are some great tongue-in-cheek lyrics in songs like “So Yeah!“, “Glad To Say Goodbye” and “If Mary Wanna“, the band really shines on their more serious, straight-forward rockers. “Livin’ Like a Sinner” reminds me of Thin Lizzy, while “Higher Than High“, “Get Over You” and “Let It Burn” show they’re more than just a party cover band.
For those of us that aren’t in Vegas nearly as often as we’d like (it’s been over a year!) and can’t see the band play live, this CD will help fill the void. Although I’ll warn you, it’ll also make you want to catch their live show that much more. That’s a win-win for the Sin City Sinners, which anytime you can get a “can’t lose” in Vegas, you’ll take it!
