Formed in 2013, Sludgehammer, a 5 piece Canadian metal band has been making waves in the music scene. Starting out with members Jeff Wilson (guitarist) and Fernando Villalobos (drums), they found vocalist Chris Szarota, who possessed an astonishing vocal ferocity and bassist and vocalist Dan Ayers, who also revealed a golden voice. Even though it was completely self-recorded the demo released at the bands’ first gig on November 22nd, 2013 was well received. On August 11th, 2014, the second recording, Organ Harvester, produced by Christian Anderson was released, again to rave reviews. In July 2015, Tyler Williams joined Sludgehammer, cementing the 5-piece band we see currently.

Unleashing their debut full-length The Fallen Sun earlier this month on June 10th, Toronto’s SLUDGEHAMMER announce they will be performing the following Ontario dates in support of the release.

Dates:
July 9 – Sudbury, ON – The Asylum – w/ Black Absinthe, Laugh At The Fakes
July 29 – Oshawa, ON – The Atria – w/ Caym, Backlash, Astaroth
August 27 – Oshawa, ON – The Atria – w/ Abiotic, Vesperia

The Fallen Sun features eleven fist pounding tracks of dynamic vocal performances from lead vocalist Chris Szarota and bassist Dan Ayers, along with a showcase of mind-bending guitar solos, heavy riffs and blistering drumming fury.  The debut album is the follow up their 2014 EP Organ Harvester and was self-produced by the band plus mixed by guitarist Tyler Williams along with mastering done by world renowned producer & engineer Lasse Lammert (Gloryhammer, Alestorm, Teramaze) at LSD Studio in Germany.
