The tension in Stryper leading up to Tim Gaines’ eventual firing/departure was tighter than Oz Fox’s spandex budget.  It had been rumored for some time that Gaines had been on the way out with the bands singer confirming it earlier this week and then Tim himself going on a now deleted tirade on his Facebook page where he confirmed it and said this.

“My recent demise within the Stryper camp came about because I actually have testicles. I stood my ground when I was told to give up the woman I love (who is now my wife) or get fired, I threatened to sue.  I was ‘conveniently’ fired 10 days after my marriage to Brandee, on the grounds that I made some posts threatening to sue the band for wrongful termination. They called it ‘threats.”

I’m gonna break here.  Because after that somewhat jilted statement, shit gets real.  Tim is about to take it from a 5 to an 11.  Grab a snack.

“My recommendation to Oz and Bob? Grow some balls and stand up to that pathetic one (Michael?) and his conniving wife, or just continue to live a life of mediocrity,”.

Dayammn!  Any chance you can take it up a notch Tim?

“You both have been threatened with termination over the last several years. He (Michael Sweet if you haven’t figured that out yet) has a million-dollar home. You rent and drive twenty-year-old broken-down cars. You both have NOTHING to show for your thirty-five years. Quit playing rock star and get a clue, dumbshitz.”

Wow!  He called them Dumbshitz.  With a Z!

For his part, Michael Sweet took a brief detour from the low road to issue this statement on his own Facebook page.

“I took a few days off from FB to clear my mind a bit. I’m really trying hard to stay away from the negative stuff and focus on the positive stuff. It’s just not worth the time and effort spent.”

All images of Gaines has been scrubbed from Stryper’s website.  Look for the new Sweet & Lynch record out November 11th on Frontiers Records.
