We Want You Decibel GeekDo you have a love of hard rock and heavy metal music? Looking for a fun music related hobby? Interested in getting more involved? At Decibel Geek we are very fortunate to have an excellent team of staff that volunteer their time and skills, be them writing, photo, video or otherwise. Here’s your chance to become a part of the Decibel Geek team.

As the Decibel Geek website grows and expands and our writers come and go, we are presented opportunities to welcome new folks to the team. This could be you! Do you fancy taking a stab at reviewing albums for our website? Perhaps creating news/posting press releases articles are more your style? Well, the good news is that we are searching for volunteers in both areas!

At Decibel Geek, we are all about keeping the music alive and while these are not paid positions (we actually don’t make any profit ourselves but are here for the love of the music) there are other perks that may be available down the road. Here’s some further details:

Album Review Writer:

We receive many albums for review from bands and record companies. The person we seek to do album reviews must be willing to take chances on smaller, possibly completely unknown bands, as well as known names. We will supply you with mp3’s of the albums, all you need to do is listen and write your review! Your written reviews must be a minimum of 300 words and do not always have to be positive even as long as you back up why you didn’t like the album. So, sound like fun? Please email themeister@decibelgeek.com.

News Item Writer:

While there are many websites reporting rock and metal news we feel that this is something that should be a part of Decibel Geek as well. We are seeking a creative individual or individuals to write news reports for the Decibel Geek website. These reports can come in the form of press releases (we will forward to you), social media posts or even other websites. No matter how the inspiration arrives, you must write them not just copy and paste unless it’s an official press release. In some cases, you will need to have the creative ability to create a 300-word news article out of a band’s simple Facebook post or even a photo. We would be looking to post as many news articles daily as possible. So, sound good? Please email themeister@decibelgeek.com.

These are just a couple of ways to get involved, but there are many more. If you are interested please don’t hesitate to get in touch for more information. Contact Rich “The Meister” Dillon at themeister@decibelgeek.com and let us know why you want to join Decibel Geek!
