wild rose 4 cover2016Hailing from Greece, AOR band Wild Rose are soon set to release their 4th full-length studio album, aptly titled 4. Fans of Tyketto, Richard Marx, Survivor, Night Ranger, and even early Bon Jovi are sure to enjoy this melodic album.

The band was formed over a decade ago and after much persistence and a few line up changes the band released their first full-length release, Half Past Midnight, in 2011. Since then they have remained productive, releasing 2 more studio LP’s. The new album 4 will see Worldwide release on May 6, 2016, by Lion’s Pride Music.

Album opener “Desperate Heart” is a mid-tempo melodic rocker that really sets the mood and tone for the album. The sweet guitar riff in the keyboard-laced intro sparked my early Bon Jovi mention and the expressive ascending lead guitar playing is a great treat. The energy picks up a bit with the following track “Love Can Change You” that also includes some great lead guitar work. Other noteworthy tracks include “Love Games” and “Waiting For You”.

After spending some time with this album I’ve found that there is somewhat of a simplicity within it that I find refreshing. One thing I would’ve loved to hear on this recording is a good acoustic drum kit. The soulful vocals and catchy melodic riffs make this a solid effort and I encourage anyone who is a fan of this style of music to give Wild Rose a listen.
