Too Far Lost

Too Far Lost is a Heavy Metal band hailing from West Milford, N.J. Although formed just a year ago, the band has already shared the stage with Alien Ant Farm and (Hed) P.E. and are set to release their first EP, Corrupted Swine, on July 31st. As soon as I loaded it up and clicked play, I was instantly met with a flood of heavy guitar chords and a double kick onslaught that serve as a solid foundation for a mix of vocals both clean and melodic as well as fierce and guttural. The culmination of these young men is beyond exceptional. Clocking in with 4 songs at roughly 3 1/2 minutes a piece, this powerful EP is over as quickly as it begins, but certainly showcases the bands writing and playing abilities.

The single for the EP, “Pipeline”, is a quick paced number that begins with a bit of solitary guitar before charging ahead with verses that showcase the vocals both clean and unclean. The pre-solo breakdown along with the lead solo itself are well crafted. Great song.

My favorite track and one of the best songs I’ve heard all year is the first half of the EP’s conclusion titled “Soldiers Lament Part 1”, a slightly conceptual piece with a Spanish styled melody interspersed into a few time changes, background acoustic guitar, some percussion, and a storyline. Corrupted Swine wraps up bombastically with “Soldiers Lament Part 2”. The storyline continues with a different perspective, but the song charges on with the familiar vocal duo, time changes, and dynamic riffage.

Great writing. Great playing. Great EP. Too Far Lost has been FOUND!!! Check ’em out!!! Corrupted Swine will be available at iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, & Google.
