It’s not every day that you see members of rock royalty casually chatting with each other in the local airport; unless you live in Nashville. Living legends Tony Iommi, Peter Frampton, &  Robert Plant were spotted today at Nashville International Airport. The trio appear to be looking at something on Plant’s phone (likely one of the crazy lady/smarmy cat memes that have been going around) while an oblivious group of people are seated behind them waiting for their boarding call. It’s unknown what they were doing in town but we would have loved to have been a fly on the wall!

While this may seem like an insane pairing of legends, it’s just another day in Nashville; the true Music City.

Known for its roots in Country music, Nashville has exploded into a true Rock n’ Roll hot spot. From numerous rock notables moving there such as super producer Michael Wagener, Dave Mustaine, Kip Winger, Mark Slaughter, Billy Sheehan Troy Luccketta and tons more to packed rock shows all over the city. Additionally, grass roots success stories such as the ascent of Thee Rock n’ Roll Residency and its members going on to perform with Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley as well as the popular Rare Hare shows that have featured local talent playing along side legends every few months.

Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention Nashville being home of the Decibel Geek Podcast; a long-running weekly rock music news and interview/commentary show. Also, 2020 will see the 4th edition of ROCKNPOD Weekend; featuring the Nashville ROCKNPOD Expo; an annual collective of rock music podcasters, musicians, and fans that is the ultimate in nerding out if you’re a headbanger. ROCKNPOD 2020 will take place August 14-16, 2020. Venue, discounts, and ticket sales to go live soon at www.rocknpod.com

  1. And let’s not forget the home of INTRUDER, first thrash band to ever get signed out of Nashville when they inked a deal with Metal Blade records in the 80’s. They coined the term ‘the city of Thrashville’. Rock on.
